![]() That's one of the reasons why I would choose MacOS these days for audio. MacOS is much closer to Linux, regarding handling different problems, but it is a bit easier than Linux. Admittedly there are many things done differently in Linux than in Windows, so are in MacOS. People believe most of the things they read, especially in tech-forums. Too much reading posts from Linux haters, I think. For example, I really liked Debian 8 when I installed it 5 years ago, and I was surprised with how easy it was to install it and handle it. Linux is getting better and easier to handle with each update, and I have high hopes for it, too. At this time MacOS is a really good alternative for audio, with many major plugin developers supporting it, so why not mentioning it? Many people are worried about what MS has been doing, and is still doing with Windows, and they are looking for alternatives. Your SSD drive is perfectly safe regardless of what BoostSpeed feature you decide to use on your computer. ![]() If for some reason you would like to use regular defragmentation on your SSD drive, you may do that with the Disk Defrag tool, but you will need to manually select this option for your SSD. SSD optimization uses special algorithms that safely optimize your drive and help extend its service life. Both of them detect whether your system drive is an SSD and perform SSD optimization instead of regular defragmentation on it. The only two tools in BoostSpeed that perform disk defragmentation are the Disk Defrag module under All Tools and the Auto Defragmentation feature under Live Speedup. When you run the one-click scan and repair using BoostSpeed, it does not include disk defragmentation at all, so you can safely run it regardless of the type of drive you have installed.
